History
To create the brand Camolas, the founder of the winery used as a reference its family name, one of the most emblematic in our region. The Camolas Grande Escolha is a very special wine for our winery and results from the vinification of Castelão grapes harvested from our oldest vineyard, planted in 1931 in "sandy soils" and from grapes of the Touriga Nacional variety from our Faias vineyard. Both vineyards are still like they were planted, following the tradition of the time, are unarmed vineyards where the plants are not organized in line, thus making impossible their mechanization. The objective was to create a wine that represents the Castelão variety, the Touriga Nacional and the Palmela region in its fullness. A wine from a really old vineyard.
Wine Pairing
A good pair with tapas of intense cheeses and a perfect combination for dishes of typical Portuguese cuisine, such as fish dishes baked in the oven specially cod with garlic and olive oil known as "Bacalhau à lagareiro" and also with game meat.
Winemaker Notes
It presents itself with very open salmon color, complex aromas of dried fruits, balsamic notes of mint and slight vegetable componentof cistus, in the mouth it is intense with excellent freshness, amplitude and a lot of unctuousness in its end.
