History
Castro is a fortified place from the pre-roman and roman period in the Iberic Península. The occupation of the “Castro de Chibanes” goes back to the bronze and copper ages.
Located at the top of the Serra does Louro, in Palmela, and inside the Arrábida Natural Park, from the place you can observe the Tejo and Sado river estuaries, and also all of the Barris valley. The natural defense conditions of the place were reinforced by the construction of fortifications during the prehistoric occupation, and later on, by a complex system of walls, towers and bulwarks during the iron age II and III. This red wine is the result of the idea of showing and sharing the archaeological heritage of the region.
